long beach to cambria
i can't really tell you where these photos were taken. at some beaches along the way to cambria. :) i don't want to say that they were taken at the only two pretty spots i passed... that would be an exaggeration. but there was a lot of driving today that wasn't what i had hoped for. for awhile i likened it to driving in colorado - some hills, some mountains in the distance, a lot of yellowy-brown vegetation - but with the pacific ocean on one side, which was a big plus. but then at least half the day was far enough inland that i couldn't see the ocean at all. pretty disappointing. i know the driving tomorrow will be better, but i can't say i'm looking forward to driving back through the non-prettiness to make it back to san diego next saturday.
the fellow at the front desk said the best place to see the sunset is about a mile up the road. and i passed a cute little downtown area on my way to the hotel, so i think i'll go find some dinner. and then we'll see about those sunset photos.

Beautiful! I'll bet the sunset is even more gorgeous. I just keep thinking, if you could see far enough, you would see Japan!
I hope you're enjoying your trip so far. I know I am! :)
